The National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products is committed to protecting personal data in accordance with Law No. 18-07 of 10 June 2018 on the protection of natural persons in the processing of personal data, as amended and supplemented by Law No. 25-11 of 24 July 2025. This policy constitutes the prior information required by Article 32 of that law.
Data controller
National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products (ANPP), Lot Géraud Petit Staoueli, Dely Ibrahim, Algiers, Algeria.
Data protection officer
In accordance with Article 41 bis of Law No. 18-07 as amended, the Agency has appointed a personal data protection officer, who can be reached at: bureau_communication@anpp.dz.
Processing operations, data collected and purposes
- Contact form and listening unit: name, e-mail address, telephone, message content, IP address and browser. Purpose: handling and follow-up of enquiries. Fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory; without them the enquiry cannot be processed.
- Illicit marketing report: establishment, e-mail address, information about the reported product, an optional screenshot, IP address and browser. Purpose: handling of reports and the Agency's control activities.
- Newsletter: e-mail address, collected with express consent. Purpose: sending the Agency's news. Unsubscribing is possible at any time via the Newsletter unsubscribe page, in accordance with Article 37 of the law.
- Functional cookies: session cookie, language choice and record of consent. No advertising or analytics tracker is placed.
Legal basis and consent
Processing is based on the express consent of the data subject (Article 7 of Law No. 18-07), given through a checkbox or an "I accept" button, and on the Agency's public-interest missions. You may withdraw your consent at any time: for cookies via the Withdraw cookie consent page, for the newsletter via unsubscribing, and for other processing by writing to the data protection officer.
Recipients
Data is processed solely by the Agency's authorised departments. It is neither transferred nor disclosed to third parties outside the cases provided for by law, and is not transferred to any foreign country (Article 44 of Law No. 18-07).
Retention periods
- Enquiries and reports: for as long as needed to handle them, then archived in accordance with the regulations applicable to public archives.
- Newsletter: until the subscriber unsubscribes.
- Proof of consent: for the validity period of the accepted version of the policy, plus the statutory limitation periods.
- Cookies: the duration of the session for the session cookie, one year for the language choice, and until consent is withdrawn for the consent cookie.
Your rights
In accordance with Articles 32, 34, 35 and 36 of Law No. 18-07, you have a right of access, a right to rectification, erasure or blocking - exercised free of charge with a reply within ten (10) days - a right to object on legitimate grounds, and a right to object to any canvassing, in particular commercial canvassing. These rights are exercised with the data protection officer: bureau_communication@anpp.dz. They may be exercised by the data subject's heirs under the conditions of Article 35.
Complaints
In the event of refusal or no reply, you may refer the matter to the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data, and bring an action before the competent court in accordance with Article 52 of Law No. 18-07.
Security
In accordance with Article 38 of Law No. 18-07, the Agency implements appropriate technical and organisational measures: TLS encryption of exchanges, hashing of the IP address in consent records, role-based access control and logging of administrative actions.
Data breaches
In accordance with Articles 45 bis 8 and 45 bis 10 of Law No. 18-07 as amended, any personal data breach is notified to the National Authority within a maximum of five (5) days, and data subjects are informed where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to their rights and freedoms.
Warning about open networks
The internet is an open network: data transiting over it may circulate without security guarantees and may be read or used by unauthorised third parties (Article 32 of Law No. 18-07). The site applies TLS encryption to reduce this risk.
Updates
Version of 25 August 2026. Any substantial change to this policy will be subject to a fresh request for consent where the law so requires.
