The Minister of the Pharmaceutical Industry, Mr. Ali Aoun, granted an audience on Thursday, September 29th, 2022, to Mrs. Blerta Aliko, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in the presence of the Director General of the National Agency of Pharmaceutical Products and Ministry executives.
The meeting, which took place in the context of strengthening cooperation between Algeria and the UNDP, provided an opportunity to assess and study the progress of the support program for the National Agency of Pharmaceutical Products, as well as the prospects for extending it to include support from the UN agency, through technical and human capacity building, for the production and control of vaccines and other innovative products derived from biotechnology.
The audience also provided an opportunity to discuss in greater depth the opportunity for national pharmaceutical producers to integrate UNDP standards and contribute to the various UN programmes benefiting the African continent, particularly in the fight against AIDS.
