From May 2th to 04th, 2023, the National Agency of Pharmaceutical Products took part in the workshop ‘Setting up local and sustainable production of quality vaccines in Africa to improve access’ organized by WHO in collaboration with its Africa Regional Office (AFRO) and Country Office in Kigali, Rwanda.
The workshop, attended by 70 participants including government officials, regulators and vaccine manufacturers, is dedicated to developing an African policy to help African governments, regulators and manufacturers strengthen their vaccine production capacity to ensure quality and sustainability.
Other objectives of the workshop included:
– Strengthening vaccine production capacity in Africa in line with WHO and international standards;
-Creating conducive local manufacturing ecosystems.
– Setting up favorable local manufacturing ecosystems;
