As part of strengthening international cooperation between Algeria and Egypt in the regulation of the pharmaceutical industry, a high-level Algerian delegation recently concluded an official visit to the Egyptian Drug Authority from 25 to 29 May 2025, under the authority and guidance of the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, and in coordination between the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products and its Egyptian counterpart. The Algerian delegation brought together representatives of several sector stakeholders, including coordinators from the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry, the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products and the National Health Security Agency, alongside the World Health Organization coordinator at the Algiers office. It was led by Dr Chérif DELIH, Director General of the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products. The visit aims to draw on the Egyptian Drug Authority's experience in regulating the pharmaceutical industry through the transfer of expertise and experience between the two parties. The visit programme included a number of sessions and workshops covering registration, inspection, control and other areas. At the close of the visit, Dr Chérif DELIH expressed his sincere thanks to the Egyptian Drug Authority for its warm welcome and the quality of the organisation, affirming that cooperation with it will help to reach maturity level 3 as soon as possible in order to facilitate the export of pharmaceutical products.
